2DigitMedia Scores in the Healthcare Field

Robert Amundson is taking his company, 2DigitMedia, into the healthcare field in a big way.  A recent issue of MED Magazine (June 2010) featured this Sioux Falls start-up and graduate of the N2TEC Institute's Tech Accelerator Program, which is giving healthcare providers a new way to use text messaging to communicate with their patients.  Amundson understands the importance of solving a real problem that customers are having, and in this case, one of the big problems that clinics have is patients who forget their appointments or forget to take their medications.  His technology will enable clinics to send out automatic messages to patients who opt in to receiving them.

But that's not all this innovative company is doing.  According to Amundson, "The other patent-pending system [being developed] will employ encrypted text messaging, which will be HIPAA and HL7 compliant....We can send extensive medical records this way since we're not limited to the 160 characters in a standard text message."

With everything going mobile, it appears that Amundson is well positioned to take advantage of the trend.
